Our Identity & Values

We Are International

The students, staff, faculty, and board members of International Theological Seminary (ITS) are from all over the world. Although the students at ITS are diverse ethnically, it is important to emphasize that a common purpose binds them together. The ITS student body is a genuine epitome of the expression “Unity in Diversity.”

We Are Reformed

We welcome and admit students from different backgrounds representing a broad cross-section of denominational affiliations. However, we teach, follow, and guard the essentials of the Reformed faith because the ITS community believes that the Reformed theology most accurately represents the teachings of the Bible.

While emphasizing the tradition of the Reformed faith, we maintain relevance in a rapidly changing world. In order to respond appropriately to the world and churches, we endeavor through spiritual and academic programs to combine the teaching of the inerrant Word with all matters pertaining to today’s culture and Christian life.

We Are Missional

Our strategy is to train established local and international community leaders to transform their communities into vibrant places of worship, mission, and justice.

Our Beliefs

We Believe God's Word Is Infallible

We believe that the Bible is God's infallible written Word, uniquely inspired by the Holy Spirit, written without error and that it is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks.

We Believe in the Triune God

We believe in the Triune God, Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier; in the atoning death and victorious resurrection of Jesus Christ and His return to judge the living and the dead, and in the forgiveness of sin, and the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

We Believe That Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church

We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the Church, which is His body, composed of all those whom He has gathered to himself by his Word and Spirit since the beginning of the time, and that we are members of this Church. To this Church, He has given the commission to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations.

The Teachings we hold are faithfully reflected in the Westminster Standards, the Belgic Confession, and the Heidelberg Catechism.
