ITS GLOBAL IMPACT
Our alumni continue to serve in one or more of the following capacities:
1.Church Leadership and Church Planting
Many of our alumni enter ITS as already established leaders in their churches and community. When they graduate, they return home to continue their ministry work whether it be as a pastor, lay elder, worship leader, Sunday school teacher, or ministry coordinator.
Bishop Barnabas Mtokambali ('94, '02) - President of African Assemblies of God Alliance who planted 400 churches in Tanzania and oversaw its growth to 8,000 churches. Most of these churches have orphanages to care for thousands of children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic.
2. Business and Entrepreneurship-related fields
Our alumni are passionate about change. Along with providing them an affordable theological education, we also work with our students to develop self-sustainable business models they can implement in their ministries when they graduate. Some businesses our alumni are passionate about include agriculture, education, healthcare, technical training, and construction.
Sarah Maigari ('16) - Founder of Divine Women Merchant Ship. This ministry in Northern Nigeria empowers women facing poverty and illiteracy by teaching them practical, vocational skills such as sewing, baking, and farming. With Sarah's vision and entrepreneurial strategies, her ministry has expanded to 40 training centers in remote villages. While studying at ITS, ministry partners in the US have come alongside Sarah to support her goal of building a self-sustaining ministry.
3. Linguistics and Bible Translations
Our students and alumni come from many parts of the world. We have found that several of our international students come from villages and communities that have little exposure to the gospel and do not have bibles readily available. During their course of study, some of our students develop a desire to print bibles their own native tongue to reach their local communities. After graduating, alumni go on to partner with organizations such as Wycliffe to develop and print these translations for their people.
4. Community Development and Relief
Many of our alumni enter ITS as already established leaders in their churches and community. When they graduate, they return home to continue their ministry work whether it be as a pastor, lay elder, worship leader, Sunday school teacher, or ministry coordinator.
Philip Fonjoh ('17) - A gifted and respected pastor in Cameroon passionate about community development. After his studies at ITS, he established an outreach organization, Spring of Hope, that takes a holistic approach to addressing poverty. Spring of Hope equips widows with marketable skills and provides education for orphans.
