Our Accreditation & Approval

International Theological Seminary is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and remains fully accredited. We accept Christian students of any race, color, nationality, and ethnic origin.

On June 9, 2023, ATS placed the seminary on probation solely due to financial concerns. In June 2026, the Board of Commissioners voted to issue a Show Cause Order for 12 months (to June 2027) as the school does not meet Standard 10.3 on Resources (Financial). The final decision will be made on accreditation status in June 2027. This Show Cause status does not affect the validity of our degrees or our ability to offer accredited programs.

We are committed to making the needed improvements and working closely with ATS to restore full compliance. Our students can continue their education with confidence, and we will keep our community updated along the way.

We are approved to operate by the Bureau for Private and Post-Secondary Education (BPPE); approval means compliance with state standards outlined in the California Private Postsecondary Act of 2009 to offer educational programs.
