Ways to Digitize your Dissertation or Thesis

As ITS conducts most of the classes online due to the global pandemic, it is vitally important for ITS Library to offer library resources in electronic formats to all local and overseas ITS members. Besides, digitizing theses and dissertations is also an important milestone for all of us to reach in the 21st Century.

Since a decade ago, ITS Library has offered e-journals, e-books, and now Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs)

There are a number of ways to digitize your dissertation or thesis:

Proquest Dissertations and Theses (PQDT)

Proquest allows graduates to submit their own work directly. The following are the requirements and instructions:

1) Graduates need to send an electronic version of their manuscripts. The format must be PDF; the file must be non-encrypted, and all fonts must be embedded.

2) Graduates need to provide a proof of degree: a copy of their diplomas, transcripts or an official letter stating completion of all graduate requirements from their institutions.

3) Graduates will also submit additional information (e.g. advisor, committee members, degree date, etc.).

Please upload the above materials to the website, https://www.etdadmin.com/student/inst?siteId=849

If you have any questions, please contact Proquest at 1-800-521-0600 or by email at disspub@proquest.com

Please click here for an example of thesis published by one of our graduates.

Internet Archive

ITS Library has chosen Internet Archive to publish your dissertation or thesis. Archive.org is a non-profit library where we can upload dissertations or theses for free as well as accessing or downloading them for free. Once your work is published, it will soon be searchable by title and author on Google. For an example, please click here.

ATLA's Research In Ministry (RIM)

It is also important to send your dissertation or thesis info and abstract to be listed on ATLA RIM, American Theological Library Association Research in Ministry database, where information of dissertations and theses in theology all listed and searchable in one database. As a member of ATLA, ITS Library is also planning to submit your dissertation or thesis there. ITS graduates who have authorized us to upload their dissertations or theses will have their info sent to ATLA RIM also. Please click here for an example.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar allows authors to submit their works that already exist on the internet. To learn how to set up an author's profile, please click here for a video tutorial. To add, NOT uploading, your work, please watch this video. You can click here to view a sample page. To view ITS Library's profile on Google Scholar, please click here.

If you would like to be part of this unprecedented digitization project, please email your pdf file to library@itsla.edu. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact ITS Library.
